    We are looking a Senior Backend Developer to develop backend applications for Nordea's private and corporate customers. Working with skilled, international teams in a fast-paced and inspiring working environment, you'll play a part in making us truly digital.     About this opportunity

    You'll join One Digital where we are responsible for the digital services that are offered to Nordea customers in various channels.

    You will join Core API team:

    • You will design, create and improve our Spring-boot based Core API platform, core micro-services & modules that form the foundation of most of our digital services
    • You are expected to learn & grow and help fellow developers with their tasks
    • You will take ownership of the code and team's support, whenever needed

    The role is based in Helsinki (Aleksis kiven katu 7) and we follow hybrid model. The team consist of architects and backend developers that are working with other developers, architects, service designers, and test specialists in a Scrum teams following the SAFe model.

Additionally we develop mission critical services for our Nordic customers on our own platform and provide help to our colleagues in their daily work.

    To succeed in this role, we believe that you:

    • Have at least 3-4 years of hands-on experience with Spring Boot
    • Have at least 5 years' work experience in software development, preferably with Java
    • Understand practices of reactive, OOP and functional programming
    • Have basic understanding of REST API and micro-service design principles
    • Are willing to learn from others and brainstorm together
    • Are familiar with at least some of the following: Jira, Maven, Bitbucket, IntelliJ, Junit
    • Have high level of curiosity within your field
    • Have good communication skills in English

    Additional skills/knowledge that is beneficial in this role:

    • Experience in code reviews and clean coding
    • Experience in unit/integration/e2e testing tools
    • Experience within Agile development methodologies
    • Understand regulatory demands within banking regarding governance of change and development initiatives
