Gofore has seven offices in Finland (Tampere, Helsinki, Turku, Lappeenranta, Jyväskylä, Oulu, Kajaani). You can work flexibly remotely or in a hybrid model, taking into account the needs of customer projects, and the work may also require travel within Finland.

In our diverse projects, we collaborate closely within our own team, cloud specialists, other developers and our AI advisors and other consultants. Within the Data & AI team, you'll be concentrating in artificial intelligence and machine learning based projects, and also get opportunities in data and software development related topics. Right now, we're looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and pioneering AI professionals to scale and extend our capabilities

Senior AI Engineer is a cross-functional role between machine learning engineer, software engineer and solution architect that designs architectures, develops and integrates Machine Learning and Generative AI solutions to enhance services, products and processes. The role is about solving customer problems, including solution architecting, fine-tuning, designing, deploying of models and optimizing AI solutions, ensuring reliability, scalability, and ethical use. Also in this role you will be mentoring others in machine learning and artificial intelligence. You will also have many opportunities to learn from the talented team and deepen your skills in wide area from deeper machine learning understanding to cloud architecting and strategic consulting. You will also be supporting our sales teams based on your interest varying from creating concept solutions to presenting to customer.

In this role you will work in many different projects. You will be leading development on AI based proof-of-concepts to production implementations from Generative AI agents to complex machine vision challenges. As a senior professional you will guide customers on what are the areas to focus with AI implementations and provide input to customers AI journey. You will be tackling large complex projects where you are expect to lead the AI/ML implementation.

Currently, we hire directly into projects. This means we have ongoing recruitment, but before making an offer, we aim to find your first project based on discussions during the recruitment process. We believe this improves the employee experience, as we can offer a project immediately when you start at Gofore.

What we expect from you:

• Proven fluent programming skills in Python or other languages like C# and JavaScript.

• Hands-on experience, min. 2 yrs, with LLMs, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning techniques.

• Usage of Generative AI frameworks and APIs (OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain, etc.)

• Understanding of and ability to discuss in a customer setting about Generative AI application architectures and components such as vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)

• Min. 5 years of experience in Machine Learning techniques (Convolution Networks, Recurrent Neural Networks, Natural Language Processing)

• Familiarity with Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and MLOps

• Experience in AI architecture design

• Willingness to collaborate with others, develop skills and capabilities, and share knowledge within teams

• Consulting skills – especially communication skills and the ability to drive progress

• Customer-oriented mindset and readiness to adapt to the needs of customer projects, including where and how you work.

• Fluent spoken and written Finnish and English: our company language is English, but most of our client projects require Finnish proficiency

The following are considered beneficial in our projects

• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric

• AI related certifications

• Experience and enthusiasm for working with clients in the public sector, industry, healthcare, security, or finance

• Experience working as a full-stack developer

• Experience working in software as a service product development

Typical salaries for this role range from € per month based on your experience and role, with further opportunities for performance-based incentives.
